Utility side-by-side comparison: Segway Fugleman UT6 and UT10 vs AODES WorkCross 1000

The short version

On paper the Segway UT10 makes the most power of the three: 105 HP and 95 Nm. The UT6 makes 41 HP and 50 Nm.

AODES publishes a 770 lb cargo-box rating and 2,500 lb towing for the WorkCross 1000 on its Canadian site. Segway Canada doesn't publish either figure for the UT6 or UT10.

For a heated cab you need the UT6 HV, the UT10 HV or a WorkCross HVAC model. The base trims don't have cab heat.

Warranty terms differ. Segway advertises 2 years with no kilometre limit on its UTVs, and AODES lists 3 years.

AODES's own global spec manual gives a lower towing figure for the WorkCross 1000 HVAC than its Canadian page, so confirm towing in writing.

If you're buying a side-by-side for work, like hauling feed, checking fence or getting to a cabin, you'll care about cab heat, box capacity and towing more than top speed. Here's how three machines sold in northern Alberta compare on their makers' own published Canadian numbers.

"Not listed" means it isn't on the maker's Canadian page as of October 25, 2026. That's not the same as zero.

Winter cab options

UT6 HV has a heater and full plastic doors with sliding windows. The Premium trim has polycarbonate half doors and no heater, and the Base has mesh doors.
UT10 HV has a cabin heater, full polycarbonate doors and a glass full windshield. The UT10 Premium has plastic side doors, a half windshield and no heater.
WorkCross 1000-3 HVAC and 1000-6 HVAC list heat and A/C, with "8 air vents" on the 1000-3 HVAC. The HVAC versions weigh more: AODES lists 2,285 lb for the 1000-6 HVAC against 2,079 lb for the 1000-6.

What the table doesn't tell you

Towing and box numbers need checking. AODES's Canadian product pages say 2,500 lb of towing for the WorkCross 1000 models. Its global 2026 spec manual lists the WorkCross 1000 HVAC at 800 kg (1,760 lb). We can't tell you which is right for a particular unit, so ask the dealer to confirm in writing. Segway's Canadian UT pages don't publish towing or box ratings, so ask for those too.

Weight affects where you can go. A heavier machine with a cab is harder on soft trails and needs a sturdier trailer to haul. If you'll trailer it behind a truck, check the truck's ratings first. Our sister site has a guide to reading a truck's towing sticker.

Rules don't change with the machine. A side-by-side is an OHV under Alberta law, with the same registration, insurance, plate and helmet rules (see Alberta OHV rules before you ride).
